Poker in Wexford

Have to head down to Wexford next week with work. Will be down Wed, Thurs and Fri night. Anyone know of any games, I assume there are no casinos??? Heard something about whitford house hotel, does anyone have any info on this spot or any other pub or tournie games? Cheers.

I know there is a game on in Bar called south 51 every thurs good crowd ...


We have a Boyle poker event down there in Whites Hotel Weds 14th €100 +€20 F/O starts 8pm 7k starting stack 20 min blinds ..

donkey 1/2 cash games every night - weekends are best coz there's a free bar and they are all sh*tfaced!!

Thanks Bops, casino in Wexford, who'da thunk it. Looks good will stop in and check it out. Unfortunatly wont be down on 14th, but anyone with anymore info on South 51 game or any other pub/hotel games much appriciated.

Poker in Wexford is pretty much non exisitent.
as the lads have said Newbay is your best bet if you absolutely have to play but theres only a cash game a couple of nights a week i think and free drink results in a pretty messy game. i would not recommend it.

The card club in New Ross (Caesars Palace) which is about 15 mins from Wexford town is a much better option. they have a 50 freezeout on a thursday which gets 4 tables plus really soft cash games with the likes of bops after it.

The Sky and the Ground every thursday 9pm.
Small numbers only 10 to 16 players, € 20 buy-in, one rebuy, 5,000 starting stacks with 20 minute blinds starting at 25/50 50/100 75/150 etc.

South 51 bar in wexford town is on wednesdays at 9pm. €30 freezeout.
30k chips. 30-40 players usually. As the place has to be cleared by 12ish,
the final table is a grand crapshoot.
Newbay house casino. €20 to join.tourneys dried out but cash games get going bout 11pm. free drinks tho.
Whitford house is a mainly draw poker game.
Theres a good game in Enniscorthy on Fridays. €30 freezeout. 8pm start and comfy finish by 1.15 am ish. nice small friendly crowd. some good players tho.
Also a game on thursdays at Enniscorthy golf club.but mainly played by swingers.

Cool, thanks a mill folks. Will definatly brighten up the working week,the thoughts of sitting in some shanty b&b just waiting for the next days work were unbearable. Now im actually looking forward to it. I knew i could rely on the boardies. Will defo be heading to South 51 bar on wednesday and The Sky and the Ground on thursday and will prob check out newbay at some stage. Cheers.
