    Hi,

have come across plenty of IT harddrive problems but this one has me stumped!!

I took out a Seagate ST316002ACE 160gb harddrive from my Sky+ box and banged it into an external casing. When I try to format it in windows I get an error saying:
"Windows was unable to complete the format"

When I try formatting in Windows Dos it bombs but tells me that the "second ntfs boot sector is unwritable".

So what can I do?? I booted up using "pci_emaxx" boot rom and after 8% it bombed!!

Any ideas?? Is this cos its a Sky+ harddrive, do they corrupt the 2nd boot sector??

EDIT I came across a Seagate DOS tool which I am hoping will do the job!!
