CDWOW & Laser Cards

    Hi guys

Placed an order with CDWOW today and there was no option for a Laser Card they seem to have changed their payment processor. I tried both the .ie and .com site. Is it me, just missing something or is Laser no longer an option. If they are not taking Laser anymore they will loose my business.

    Thanks

    Paul

It seems like they have stopped accepting Laser, will shoot off an email to have a rant.

edit: got this email after sending them a message this morning.
We have just introduced a new payment provider (Realex) and apparently there
is an issue with some Laser cards. If the first 5 digits of your card are
either 630498 or 630499 (called a ‘BIN’ range), your card will not currently
be accepted via Realex and you will receive a ‘declined’ message when trying
to process your order on our site.

The reason for this is that these BIN ranges are not branded as
International Maestro, which they have to be in order for payment to be
    made.

We are currently awaiting feedback from Laser to see if they can add these 2
BIN ranges to their International Maestro. We hope to receive positive news
very soon. In the meantime, the only option we can offer is for you to use
a different credit/debit card if you have one.

Sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused and we do hope this issue
will be resolved by Laser very soon.

When they say "Internation Maestro", do they mean the Maestro where you can use ATMs abroad ? I know some Laser cards begining with 630499 are in fact Cirrus cards so how would Laser be able to add them to their Maestro range ?
Or are they just talking about something else here. Bit of a cockup on CDwows part to go with a new payment provider who can't process the transactions that their previous provider could.

Yep.. noticed this last Sunday. Appended this information to the end of the 'Sticky of online threads that accept Laser / Maestro cards'.

I ordered something using my Laser on the .Ie domain no problem though. It just seemed to be the .Com domain that didn't accept Laser anymore. But i'd use the .com more often as the majority of the vouchers are from there and there's always an advantage in buying via the sterling price.

Hope they rectify it on the .Com site soon.

Cirrus and Maestro are not the same function.

And as for CDWOW - well, you have to ask yourself how big a percentage of their sales come from Laser users. I highly doubt it's so significant that it was first thing on their mind.

The function is the same but by different clearing houses which is why I was asking the question on why they're going to ask Maestro to sort this out if some of the cards being delcined are Cirrus.

Just wondering if anybody has has any problems getting refunds from cdwow.ie?

Ordered a game for the girlfriend and it kept saying awaiting shipment. When I emailed them they said the distributor hadn't sent it to them so it would be 2-3 weeks before I would receive it so i canceled it.

Got an email Friday saying they had processed a full refund and no money has gone into my account.

I'd imagine it would take a few working days for the refund to appear on your account.
