My Zen turns on fine but then after a few seconds displays a lock icon and shuts off. Its not in the lock position. If i attach it to my pc it works fine - i can browse and player music. I have tried resetting it, applying firmware updates but no joy.

I just want to bump this up because i really want to get it fixed. Creative just keep sending me on urls of things to try but nothing works. Basically i turn the zen v plus on, it powers up as normal but once it has loaded it displays the currently played song title a padlock appears in the top right hand corner, the screen goes black and thats it!

    Hi,
I have a zen vision M and have had no problems with it.
The only thing I can suggest is to reset it (using the reset pin at the bottom of the player) or else try a different firmware.
It may be just a faulty player.
Sorry I know you have probably tried these ideas already.
    Good luck with it.

sorry just read the post that said you tried both of these options.
Should have read it more carefully.
Normally creative are quite good replacing faulty goods have you tried ringing them?
