Won the race last year ...

    I am always interested in horses that won the race last year ... if I notice it.

    It seems to me that it shows that:

    They like the track
    Distance ok
    Perform at this time of year
    Trainer may like this track and prepare specifically for it

    Of course - have to take into account that they are a year older and also consider weight / going etc.

    But I think there may be some merit in this ... does anybody know of any research done into this angle? Thanks.

    PS - News Item in the Ulster National today is one!
