jaysus dont say things like that..

Were you by chance on stores.ebay.com/Kea-Photo and not stores.ebay.co.uk/Kea-Photo? The .com store is always low.

    edit >
Yup, just checked. That must have been it. The .co.uk store is all stocked up :)

phew ... was worried there for a moment ... have determined my next purchase will be from these guys ... strange but my fav sellers used to link to UK store ...

... now all I need to do is decide between 1D MkIII and 5D :)

Waiting a bit for the inevitable reviews and comparisons ... to decide.

    on paper, get the 1D MK3 :D

But no, do the sensible thing and keep your dosh firmly in pocket until the reviews come out. I'm hoping for a modest lotto win right around the time it's released. Off to spend a long weekend in B&H :D

Chinese New Year has just ended, the place basically shuts down for a week (ish).
Even if the lads aren't Chinese the people they deal with will be so they may be having a slow period.
Best way is to mail em and see.

**EDIT** Must read all the post before I reply :(

bought a lens hood from him last week and it came this week!

Bought an 80-200mm lens from kea photo on Saturday and paid immediately.

Previous sales were promptly dealt with and email with shipping tracking was received next working day.

However, on this ocassion I've only received an email confirming payment.

Contacted them first thing this morning as I need to arrange to have someone at home to accept delivery from Fed Ex but they have not responded.

I've spent close to €5000 with them in the past six months and never encountered any delays or problems with all communiciations answered promptly.

    Anyone else have similar problems?

    TF

5K on gear? 1K on gear?
I should start saving, seriously :-(

    Yeah, an OLD thread.

Actually, I spent 2k in the last month. But, previous to that hadn't bought in over a year.

And the money came from my SSIA savings.
    :D

My measly €450 lens was a year's worth of gear shopping! No 'L's for me...

It's not what you've got, its what you do with it :p I was one of those annoying people that liked to point out 'a camera is just a box to hold the film'

Anyway, I just got my new lens from Albert, had to wait 3 weeks for normal post mind you but still, it's here, safe and sound.

Apologies to Albert at Kea Photo. He has just emailed to apologise for teh dealy. Seems it was a hectic weekend of sales and they set preference to getting the goods despatched before answering queries.

He also included Fed Ex tracking info and I can now see that my lens has left Hong Kong and is winging it's way to Paris. Delivery expected before midday Wednesday so I'll have the youngest at home to sign for delivery.

I like these guys so much I've just given them another order, this time its an f1.4 50mm, great for indoor shots

And there's *still* no sign of mine...

... one of the guys in my office bought a lens from Albert recently and it was returned to Albert without ever having been delivered ... there was a stamp on the parcel when it arrived at Albert's with what looked like "RS" on it ...

Sinead - I'd be a little concerned at this stage. Might be worth emailing Albert to see if he knows anything.

Postal deliveries can be an issue from time to time.

Sinead ... another thing you might try if you have not already is ring the An Postdelivery centre for your area ... they normally leave a little slip of paper if they arrive at your place and can't deliver ... but I have had occasions in the past where the slip was never given to me ...

Pleased to announce that Mr FedEx delivered said 80-200mm lens at 10:11am weighing in at 1.5kgs.

    Test pics looked extremely sharp.

My 100mm Macro arrived today from HK Supplies ... not even 3 full days since ordered !!!

Amazing ... UPS is the way to go ...

UPS is the way to go ...

Huh? They're the worst shower I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with! Nothing is every straightforward. They never give you an idea of what time they expect to arrive. They never make an attempt to contact you and if they don't find you, they'll walk away. The only way you'll know they've been, is by checking the tracker, when they decide to update it.

I had a guy call round to my house 3 days in a row, but never actually buzzed my place. He would turn up, decide that I wasn't home and then leave. I had specifically taken time off work to be there.

They've caused me too many problems for it to have been an isolated event.

    FedEx are leagues ahead!

    Does this store still exist?

On the google search page it says the OP was made in Sept 2016, but the last post was made in 2007

OP was in 2007. This is a 10 year old thread.

I am aware that it's a 10 year old thread, I mentioned it was a 10 year old thread. Me mentioning that google search (if any google employees ever head this, sort out your search engine) stated it was made last year doesn't mean I'm not aware that it's a 10 year old thread.

The only thing I asked is if the seller (Kea Photo) still exists

I used to buy from Albert all the time - direct email even after the website closed, I contacted him last month and sadly he is not in the business anymore.
Pity , there were such great deals.
