    How do folks!!

Am hoping to get an iMac - but I want to check it out & use it before I shovel out the cash! Are there any retailers in Limerick that deal in Macs?

You could try Compu B - they're based on or around Henry St if I remember correctly.

PC World on the Dublin road have a good selection of Macs and they are out on display. I don't remember Compu B having them out on display but the receptionist has one on her desk.

The problem with PC World though is a lack of expertise, you really have to go to CompuB for that

PC world know nothing about macs... so any questions you have wont be answered. CompuB will take out any machine you want to try and give you a demo in store... go for them.

I was in PC World yesterday to price two laptops for business, you are quite right, they didn't know anything about PCs either!!!

I was advised that very few laptops come with Bluetooth!!!

(Sorry, that was slightly off the point on a Mac forum)

However, they have several Macs on display, all powered up and all ready to use. I had great fun on them and not a single sales person approached me!

My housemate book a macbook lately, but wouldnt listen to me and was too lazy to go to town to compuB, so went to PC world instead. There was a hardward issue with her airport card and when she went back to PC world for advice they were so scared of the word apple that they didnt even look at it, simply replaced it there and then. They didnt even do a firewire transfer, took back her machine, with all the data on it, and gave her a brand new one. She asked them to wipe the machine, they tole her they didnt know how.

Hmmmm there is NO WAY i would have left the store with that solution but... each to their own. I just hope she didnt have anything too worrying from a security point of view on there.

PC World + Apple, now thats Comic Relief
