Hi I am flying to krackow with central wings who are a polish airline does any one know anything about them or has anyone any experience of flying with them. We are going in March from cork and I have heard that a lot of flight into kracow with ryanair have been diverted lately..

Centralwings is the low-cost carrier of the Polish airline LOT.

I flew with them to Krakow, and everything was fine. No frills, but comfortable and friendly. I have no complaints.

There is note on the airport website pointing out only ryanair have a problem with landing in the evenings. Apparantly deer have been spotted near the runway and alledgedly the airport has sorted it out, everyone else is fine but ryanair for some reason are dragging it out and refusing to land after dark.....

I flew with centralwings from Poland last year. They were fine, but I don´t think they actually fly from Krakow, it´s actually from Katowice....no, actually, I´ve just checked and seemingly they fly from Dublin and Shannon to Katowice but from Cork to Krakow. Stragne...

Sorry to bring up an old thread but I'm looking to fly out of Cork soon to Krakow and then travel onto Bratislava, it's a pain having to travel to Dublin any time I want to go anywhere. Anybody know if some other company has started or will start flying to Krakow in the near future? AFAIK Central Wings aren't active anymore as I was redirected to some other site. Any help much appreciated!

http://www.whichbudget.com/ is your friend: You can fly to Katowice with WizzAir (plus about 1 hour bus/train to Kraków). I have flown to Katowice before and taken WizzAir's shuttle bus. In fact, my friend and me were the only customers on the bus so we essentially got our own free taxi. And the bus driver was going a mad 120km/h down a windy road, getting us to Kraków very quickly :)

Edit: Your other option of course is changing planes somewhere on the way. You could fly Cork->Dublin with Ryanair or AerArann or Cork->London and then change there.

Thanks for your help but we had a bad experience with multi flights so would like to just do one. After I did some more research I found Wizz Air but all the flights leave at 9pm so won't be in Katowice until 12:50, we need to get a train from there and go to Liptovsky Mikulas in Northern Slovakia, I wonder is this possible at that time.

The shortest time I can see for a train from Katowice central to Liptovsky Mikulas is 5:27 hours and that is with a change and during the day. If you left Katowice central at 12:03am, you would be traveling 8:00 hours. After that, there are no more trains until 5:08am. So basically, this is a very bad idea. Why do you not fly to Bratislava with Ryanair and take a train from there? It is less than 4 hours and you do not need to change trains.

Unfortunately that's what we'll be doing.. Besides the fact we hate Ryanair etc, we will have to travel to Dublin and it's coming home and flying into Dublin and travelling back to Cork is the killer, we may just fly to Dublin etc but it's still hassle! Pity Cork airport has f*** all flights! Thanks for your help tho :)
