Just thought I'd mention this incase anyone was interested.

Anyone see the news yesterday where they are turning the Ballymun towers into a temporary hotel before being demolised?

Apart from being able to stay there they are also allowing ppl to have a tour, go to the top etc, which would be an interesting photo op IMO, just think of the view.

More details can be found here: www.hotelballymun.com

Nope. It was on the news last night. They'll have an observation floor at the top of one of the towers, apparently there's very good views of Dublin bay from there.

    I still live there.
Because govt. projects have to allocate a certain percentage for orts projects roysh, so there's loadsa nonsense like this that gets the go ahead

Incidentally i don't know if Thomas Clarke will give you an uninterrupted view of the horizon, theres a few building's that might block it. You'd need to be in a flat on Connolly tower or Silloge road to get the full effect. I used to live on the top floor in Silloge and you could see from Howth right across the bay and the whole of the Dublin mountains, basically all of Dublin. Connolly tower is even higher up and would give better views.

Of course if you don't wanna pay some knobby artist money for the view, there's an emergency hatch onto the roof in every block and i happen to know one of em is open...:D
