Just checked the prices today and I was shocked. Just last month I was in Conns buying a Extreme III 4GB CF card which was marked down at EUR250 and I got it for EUR200 in the end. Oh yea I was in a rush as I had a wedding to shoot in the morning people had my cards.

Now I got to Amazon and behold the price.

SanDisk CompactFlash 1 GB Extreme III - 19Euro
SanDisk CompactFlash 2 GB Extreme III - 35Euro
SanDisk CompactFlash 4 GB Extreme IIl - 64Euro
SanDisk CompactFlash 8 GB Extreme III - 194Euro
SanDisk CompactFlash 16 GB Extreme III - 312Euro

Oh prices suck so so much over here.

    Seb.

They've got some problem with regard to the implementation of the WEEE directive. See http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/12/18/ireland_amazon . When the UK join the scheme, which they will eventually have to, I guess all this will become a moot issue, but for the time being ...

Roen you could always try pixmania.com,i had a look at prices for the sandisk cards and they are close enough to amazons prices.I've heard mixed reports re pixmania but have ordered from them many times with no trouble.Hope this helps.

Cheers flyingdagger, I've used them myself before without problems too actually, I'll check em out.

I read somewhere recently that SanDisk have dropped prices right across the board in some effort to cement their position as the market leader. Well, it's working for me as I got a spare 2Gb cardfor £16.99 from 7dayshop last week. Delivered up North though.

    Edit: wrong size of card...

I won't as a matter of principle buy *anything* anymore from Amazon because of their policy of not selling certain electronic goods to Ireland. At least not until they change their policy. They claim that it's got something to do with the WEEE directive. If so, how come Pixmania, Technikdirekt, etc., etc., have no such problems? And if you ring to complain you will probably get through to their call centre in, ironically, Cork of all places! As far as buying memory cards I'd recommend www.7dayshop.com
