    If you've got a Ford with a digital display you can make use of this little trick.

    * Press and hold the mileage reset button
    * Start the engine
    * Keep it pressed until "test" appears
    * Release the button

    By pressing the button you can now choose from a range of features.

    1. Gage Test
    2. Dial Test
    3. Bulb Test
    4. Diagnostic Check
    5. Diagnostic Check
    6. Clock Type (shows ?date 44? if UK)
    7. Diagnostic Check
    8. Speed MPH
    9. Speed KPH
    10. Revs
    11. Fuel
    12. Engine Type
    13. Temp of Engine
    14. Battery Voltage
    15. Diagnostic Check
    16. LCD Display

    N.B By turning off and restarting the engine, the display will return to the normal mileage setting again.

    You could have got it for free on any Ford owners club website, such as www.ffoc.co.uk :)

    Please forgive my ignorence, but i have a 03 mondeo zetec, with this digital display

    I'm assuming this is something that you can use while driving instead of the odometer (the kph readout?)

    But how does a guage test work???

    Yes. But you'll have to go through the process every time you start the engine as it gets cancelled when you switch off the ignition.

    It does a complete sweep test (up to max and back) of all the gauges and lights all the warning lights at once.
