An elderly woman with severe arthritus and bad hips comes and play in our monthly house-game

she would have to be assisted out of a car and into the house, propped up in a special seat and would normally wince in pain at the slightest movement.

however, about an hour into the game she would be laughing and joking with the best of them, win or lose she would have a great nights entertainment.

on her last visit i asked her how she was feeling, her reply really amazed me,

"sure arent i above ground and havin a ball with friends ???" "There is no better cure for ailments than poker" and went on to tell me that she so looks forward to the game as its one of the few times that she completely forgets about her pain and really has fun.

and they say that poker is a bad thing, now really, how could anything that brings so much happiness and relief from suffering be a bad thing ???

    thats the power of poker,
no replies necessary, just wanted to share that

one only has to look what happened when the smoking in card clubs ban came in, everyone expected that there would be a fall off in players,
but no, the fact is that more players than ever began playing
    which proves beyond reasonable doubt
that the draw of poker is greater than that of nicotene

    as i said

    The Power of Poker

forget the north and south poles as attraction powers, poker is all powerful

    feel the force Luke.

well seeing as cigs are currency behind bars, wouldn't poker and cigs go hand in hand, and to continue playing you have to avoid smoking away your stack

    PLease supply more info

i cannot give a comprehensive answers to queries that have not given all the facts

how long were you in Prison for and what were you convicted of??

once these questions are answered, i may be in a better position to help

in the meantime, you are supposed to be incarcerated and have your liberty removed, so use the time wisely and learn something that might improve your life, like say, how to play online poker, i am confident that the penal system will be pleased to see you make more productive use of your time rather than wasting it on cons, probably pretending to play mommas and pappas with each other

ps if anyone hands you an apron, run for your life, they wont be expecting you to cook for them but they might be expecting other marital duties
