According to PWInsider, former WWE Champion Brock Lesnar will make his long awaited MMA debut fighting for K-1's offshoot promotion HEROES on May 19 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Lesnar has been training for some time now after leaving New Japan Pro wrestling and declining an offer from WWE to return to the company. There are still rumors making the rounds that UFC has interest in possibly bringing in Lesnar down the line. Considering how strong UFC business is right now, that could be a very strong move for Lesnar if his MMA debut is impressive.

Will Brock ever go to UFC?
Or since he was supposedly a student of Royce Gracie does Pride now call...or will it ever happen?

    Opinions....

Wait, So he's not playing football for the minnesota vikings anymore??
Well he did start more fights on the pitch then actually play football!

I'd love to see him in the UFC, he'd destroy Sylvia.
Wasn't he trianed by pat miletich before gracie?

He's not one to be underestimated.

    .

Pride is on the market. Ever since they lost tv last year, they have bled money. UFC might even buy pride.

Whoever offers Lesnar the most is who'll get him. Whether that is EXC (the new showtime group), UFC or even the IFL.

I'd say lesner will do good enough but more of a freak-show than title contender.Well If Tim Sylvia can be Champ of the UFC then maybe he a has a chance. But no one can really speculate untill you've seen him train or fight

Sylvia is on borrowed time as heavyweight champ!

im not a big fan of sylvia but what he does is working and i think people are too hard on him-physically he does not look like a fighter but uses what he has to his advantage-respect. also i dont think pride is doing as bad as people make out-ufc trash talk pride all the time to try make out that there the kings of mma-i dont think so-maybe kings of advertising..pride will build up in america and is already huge in asia-then when it gets the states it will move here too. my opinion

I dont think that he even got to play for them.He got trials for them and he didnt make it onto the first team so he decided to quit and to go back to wrestling but the contract offered to him wasn't as appealing as it was before he left.
Then,he turned around and decided to pursue a career in MMA.So lets wait and see how he does.Needless to say he is a 295+ pound guy so he will be a force to be reckoned with in any heavyweight division whether its Pride,UFC,K-1 of any other promotion that he competes for

Guys, Pride Japan and Pride USA are actually two separate companies. The owner of Pride USA is currently in talks with Pride Japan about buying the promotion over there. I imagine that would be the most likely course of action that Sakiraba would take, keeping the sale in house.

Anything can happen when it comes to business sales in MMA right now. Alot of money marks are around in 2007. Just look at the stock of the IFL or Bodog fight. So many MMA companys with new investors have sprung up in the last year that its hard to predict who will buy it.

When they lost tv last year, Pride as everybody knew it ended.

I talked with Brock about a month ago. He trains with us from time to time at MMAA and with U of Minnesota. He is around 275 right now. I have seen him take out some big mui Thai black belts fighters with strikes. His take downs are unbelievable. The cage we have that's bolted into the concrete floor bent about 10 degree when he rammed a guy into the post during a take down. As the pole snapped back he took the guy backward like a greco throw and landed on top striking the guy in the face. With 16 oz gloves the guys eye was instantly black. The guy was done for the night. His main problem is finding training partners. If his opponent isn't top notch someone is going to get hurt.

I don't know about the rest of the world but we have belt rankings. Take away the belt these guys are still pro fighter level maybe around or just below UFC level.
