Why won't Play.com refund me completely?

I recently had to return an item to play.com as they had mistakenly sent it to me when in fact I had ordered something else.

I e-mailed them about it and was given instructions of how to return the item... I had to return it by recorded mail, however they said that postage costs would be refunded in the case where the item was being returned due to an error on their part.

I am now really irritated to find that they only refunded me 3 euro (2 pounds) when in fact it cost me almost 7 euro to return the damn thing to them. Having looked at the site again, it says they will only refund to a maximum of 2 pounds (which is the 3 euro I received back on my credit card).

Anyway what I'm basically asking is should I not be entitled to a full refund of my postage costs when they were the ones who screwed up and since they insist on returning items by recorded mail?

By the way, I know u mite think it's only a couple of euro, but I'm more annoyed with the principal of the matter

i donot think they would pay you the rest if they state it on the website.i would not be bothered wasting my time and chasing them for another 3-4 euro as they wonot listen

Alot of sites don't pay return postage or just pay a flat fee so I wouldn't bother going to try and get it back. It states on their site regarding what they return and I reckon thats all you are going to get.

No harm though in emailing them explaining this to them. They might give you a money-off voucher for your next purchase, if you're lucky.

If they said you had to return it by registed mail then they owe you the money.. plain and simple...
