Title sounds abit off to what Im looking for lol.. But anyway..
Im looking for a nice 50 watt head to use for my band providing I sell my Marshall Dsl401 Pm me if interested ;) I play mostly punk/Hard Rock/Modern Rock, stuff like Greenday, Chili's, Muse and Neil Young.. So it doesnt need to be too high gain.. My price range is roughly 600-800euro.. So Im open to suggestions! (Has to be tube too!)

Theres a lot in your range (ENGL, Laney, Peavey, Orange etc), ill leave someone else recommend specific ones of those.

Im a mesa man, i'd watch ebay for a F-30 head from the states. Small and light(ish), so youd ship it here for under $200.

Might fly a little over your budget if youre hit for customs, would be worth it IMO. Serious, pro-quality amps, and have just been replaced for 2007 with the express series, so theres bound to be a few popping up over the next few months.

ENGL thunder/screamer/fireball sounds right up your alley. The thunder doesnt have death metal gain but it has great Muse/At the drive-in/mars volta style gain

Buy an Engl and sell it on adverts in a months time like most of the people on here have done so far :p

ENGL are great amps. I got a lovely heavy Opeth-esque sound out of your Thunder 50 Freak, though I don't think it'll go much heavier. Fireball on the other hand has reservoirs of gain even Hungus hasn't dared to tap sober. :p

    But yeah, maybe a Laney GH-50L ?

Are you trying to suggest that ENGL aren't good, MasterOfSolos?

Actually, what he said did happen quite a bit, here and on gigsmart.

I doubt it had anything at all to do with quality - i'd say it was more because ENGLs are so affordable that lots of bedroom players bought one out of curiosity. And quickly learned that a valve amp needs to be cranked right up to make the most of it... thats my guess anyway:confused:

Well Imo the Laney COULD nearly live up to the engl, but the Engl I guess is more versitile and that Laney is only a single channel! But damn does it sound nice!:D I was thinking off getting it, but the single channel kills it for me!!

I want a Engl but would have to buy second hand and not many people are stupid enuf to sell lol..

I'd look for a second-hand JCM800 or something like that.

    .
Dont dismiss single channel amps. You may be surprised what a good valve amp, clean booster pedal, overdrive pedal, and the volume knob on your guitar can do.

2 (or 3) channels can't hurt, but dont forget that a lot of what you might consider 2-channel amps are just single channel amps with preamp gain boosts.

May i ask what is wrong with your dsl man, you have an extra cab for it and its a nice tube amp and its pretty much perfet for ya.

I swear you go through gear like....ehh....a gear monstor?

I didnt diss it, I know you can get the best tone out of one for clean and d=od easily, just I need a two channel as switch between clean and od is vital to me!!

    Yeah, fair enough.

Anyway, I would suggest test-driving an ENGL, they're fantastic, and certainly do a good clean aswell as high gain sounds.
