I was this morning informed of a new feature on Bebo.com, that being the new "Authors" section. I was also ordered to put my work up on it for the world to see! So, for anyone who's interested, check the following link to see my complete collection so far. Everything I've posted on boards is included in there somewhere or another. All comments, opinions and constructive criticism are more than welcome.

I'd just worry about copyright if it was up on Bebo. Apparently everything on Bebo and MySpace becomes property of the company? I'm not sure about that, it could just be urban myth, but I'd seriously check it out first, y'know?

Regarding the whole putting things on sites and then they own it thing, thats totally untrue, you agree that they have permission to perform your music in public, or publish your poems or whatever, but they do not own it and you only agree to this so that you can actually have people listen to your music and read your poems/stories online, i.e. a public place.

You know, I've added myself as a fan of everyone who has put up their Bebo Author's address in this thread (even read some of their stuff, who would have thought?) and so far a whole one person has added me back. Nice to know that people are willing to support each other these days.

Why should I leave people comments or review their work or recommend them to people if they won't even do me the courtesy of adding me in return.

Well adding someone isn't really a courtesy. You add someone if you like there work. I'm not saying I don't, I haven't gotten to reading it yet but you can't really go getting annoyed with people over what they think of your writing.

If you added me as courtesy rather than because you liked what I'd written I'd be as happy if you hadn't added me at all.

Im not getting annoyed, i'm just pointing out that it would be helpful if we all showed our support for eachother. If I add someone then I would hope they would add me, and once we had added each other we can start a dialogue about each others work, and we can express our opinions, good or bad.

I just think that it would be helpful If we all added each other, It would do all of us good, if you add yourself as a fan of mine, then I would comment or review your work and then you would do the same and then someone on my page could see your comments and decide to check your stuff out and visa versa.

There's not really much call for amatuer writers anymore, what with all the other things to distract people which take less effort, tv and computer games and stuff(jesus im sounding really old, im only twenty i swear!). Especially poetry. And the internet has made so much stuff available to anyone who wants it, how is someone looking for some poetry gonna find mine among the millions of other peoples. So come on like, lets help each other out even a bit.

Reading back, it does look like I'm being a narky wanker though, so sorry bout that.

I have to agree with this. I only become a fan of writers whose work makes a serious impact on me. MagnumForce, I did take the time to read your work and some of it is good. I just wasn't impressed enough to become a fan. It's nothing personal. Keep promoting your page and you'll get plenty of genuine fans.
