can you swap a sub card from one sky box to another and will it work straight away or is there a delay etc?

The premium channels won't work at all without a phone call to Sky with Box and Card details

The ordinary mix pack channels will work fine.

If a card is left out or box has no signal or box unplugged from mains, "eventually" it will need up to 24hrs to re-activate.

We don't know how long "eventually" is. Sometime it is hours other times maybe a week.

Does it have to be without the mains for long before it de-activates?

The parents would want to bring it to another house less than 2 hours away each weekend.

    Thanks.

A few hours should be fine. The cards can take a few days to de-activate usually.
