    Hey Guys,

Just wondering has anyone had any experience with this product good or bad? I like the phone and ipod integration and wondering is the GPS up to scratch? I have a Garmin i3 at the moment and love it

Does the GO 910 have Irish mapping? On their website, it says that it has mapping for Europe, the US, Canada, but not ROI.

Are you absolutely certain of this? I'd like to order one, but I won't have a leg to stand on if ROI isn't mapped, as it clearly states that it isn't on the website.

I got a GO910 at the beginning of January. Unfortunately, the onboard maps did not have the benefit of an update released one month earlier. I mentioned the problem earlier on this board, then trying everything to get the updates FOC, assuming that I was entitled to them. The robbers at TomTom insisted that I had to pay for the updates @ about €150. I have since told them that, thanks to their money-grabbing update policy, I would rather stick red-hot needles in my eyes than recommend TomTom to anyone.
There are no map version reference details on the box and you don't know what you've got until you switch the damn thing on. Had I known this policy existed I would have asked for a guarantee that if the maps weren't up to date, I would swap out with one that was. Even then, I don't think that the retailers even know what maps are on TomTom gadgets. To find an up to date one, they would probably have to open the box, switch it on and check the map coverage. TomTom's system's a mess! If you search the internet re their update policy, you get the impression that they are the most hated GPS provider on the planet.
Nice gadgets - shame about the a***holes!

Shipped in brand-spanking new from Leicestershire to North Kerry. It's a GO910.
I get the impression that their customer service people don't actually work for TomTom but are employed by some other company to handle support queries. I could be wrong but discovered that the last chap that I dealt with specialises in setting up call-centres etc.
It could be the way the Dutch do business. I bought a PC based GPS map for my laptop from a Dutch company called AND a couple of years ago. I noticed that the Shannon Estuary had been filled in but there was still a ferry across the "mud". I told them about this, not to mention that Kerry Airport was in the wrong place. I asked them about an error-free update and they told me to buy the new version when it came out.
Perhaps it's the fumes from all that freely available pot in Holland, playing havoc with their corporate brains.
I see that Teleatlas, who provide TomTom with maps (for everthing apart from the Rider model), is also a Dutch company. Perhaps it's just one big club, which is why decent mappers like Navteq don't get much of a look-in because they're American. They did let them loose on the Rider model for some reason. Perhaps they slipped up the day that decision was made.
