First hand of final table of 10 in four aces last night, 5 get paid.
    In small blind. Blinds 3k-6k.
I have 143k, which is the chip lead.
Folded round to a player mid position who raises to 25k(Second in chips, roughly 115k)
Would put him on anything from 10 10 - AA, and A10 up.
Folded to me. I have 88 with big blind left to act.

What do you do, and why?

I fold. Not only do I want to avoid the only stack that can damage me for now I'm much happier for him to be winning pots as opposed to the smaller stacks. I want them under constant pressue. This hand hes doing it so I'll leave him to it. This is all in terms of how early it is in the FT.

given the range its an easy fold

Well, I can't be sure on the range tbh, only at this table half an hour maybe. I have no idea how he plays connectors or small pairs etc. Probably should have left out what I felt he had etc.
I have seen him throw down two AA, q10 and kj hands since coming.

Blinds 3 6K raise to 25k dosent seem like he wants a caller.Kind of an over bet id stick him allin show the rest of the table not to fuc k with your blinds.Hopefully his calling range is not to wide, you increase your chip lead and are a favourite to win the tourney. You are in the driving seat in this game time to put the foot down and drive her home. Most players would fold or call but i prefer tpo gp fpr the win even if it seems reckless.

Drop it like it's hot. You'll have better opportunities to tangle with him.

    This is terrible advice..

There is no hand that he is calling with that we are in good shape against. If you push here it is only as a bluff we definitely do not want a caller. The raise is to large a percentage of your stack to call, what flop are we happy with, you do not have the odds to call for set value. Fold fold fold..

Mac i didnt recommend calling ,i recommend pushing pumping shippIng whatever ya wanna call it.The op says hes not even sure of his range of course he could wait for better chances. What if they dont arise grow old waiting for aces? Stick it he folds easy 34 k onto your stack.

I don't agree. We would prefer everyone to have medium stacks while we are the only one with a large stack. Our money comes from players would have medium stacks who we can abuse, not from shorties who are looking for a double up.

With a range that tight its a fold.

Sorry if i didnt make this clear in my original post. Reraising all-in in this spot is bad play given the mp raisers range. We will be at very best 50/50 and very often dominated. Calling is worse. Fold.

Shoving is horrible, there's absolutly no need to get all your chips in in this spot, when you're 50/50 at best, and dominated a good portion of the time. 4 times the big blind is not enough to risk crippling yourself for.
    I'm folding there.

Not sure where I said shortie.

    True, my mistake.

However I still disagree with your post, i think we want the smaller stacks to become medium stacks and the other large stacks to also become medium stacks. This generates a very profitable situation, especially approaching the bubble.

Thats fair enough. I'm specifically talking about early in a FT and the way I approach it which may well be flawed but in any case early I avoid clashes with stacks that can do serious damage and try to keep pressure on smaller stacks be they medium or worse which is how I approached answering the OP's question, what would I do? I'm not outlining a strategy from start to finish. Things change very quickly at a FT.

yeah i'd fold here too. although i do think jimmy hoffa has an interesting if maybe overaggressive line. At what point do u take this line? TT,JJ ?

We are bluffing. If pushing here is +EV then I would imagine it would be profitable to push with almost any two.

Against a "solid" player, or nit if you will, its definitely +EV.

Assuming he always call, very unlikely, however, we should start pushing with JJ+, AQ+

I folded, mostly for reasons Musician said. I would never push here I think, call I'm not getting great odds for another 22k.
