Holdem No Limit - $1 BB

    TheNigerian is 29/4/1.33
    Batsu is 34/4/2.00

    UTG+1 ($32.75) [dugsbaws29 ]
    MP+1 ($97.06) [patrick3331 ]
    MP+2 ($117.38) [TheNigerian ]
    CO ($21.50) [tiger9irons ]
    Button ($70.75) [Batsu ]
    SB ($94) [phyfe ]
    BB ($94.50) [Hero]
    UTG ($113.13) [aab4ever ]

Hero is BB with 9d, 9h
    Preflop: (8 players, $1.5)
    aab4ever folds, dugsbaws29 calls $1, patrick3331 folds, TheNigerian calls $1, tiger9irons calls $1, Batsu calls $1 and raises $4, phyfe folds, Hero calls $4 and raises $8, dugsbaws29 folds, TheNigerian calls $12, 2 folds

    Flop: 5h, 3s, 2c (2 players, $33.5)
Hero checks, TheNigerian bets $21, Hero ???

Suppose calling here might have been the better option, wanted to see how strong Batsu's hand really was as hes raising range is wide enough and ive seen him fold to re-raises often enough, is calling still the better play here as im going to be OOP so id rather take this pot now???? Should i raise more say $12 if im going to raise?

    Batsu is 34/4/2.00
rr that guy with 99 is pretty bad, esp oop, calling is far far better. I'd imagine he's an op here.

how can you say batsu's range is wide enough given his stats? preflop is really bad vs this villain

vs almost everyone i prefer calling preflop

postflop, check is good, easy easy fold now

In full ring this is as easy a fold as you will see.

in general if you are reraising out of position you should raise more, however there is no reason to reraise here with 99 at all,in fact there is hardly ever a reason to reraise with 99...
this is a completly standard call preflop.

i dont like the reriase pre-flop either ,however after you did that what i like even less is a check on the flop.
i think you should bet any flop there and be done with it if you get called in most cases.

Guess i played this very bad. Anyway i got lucky and pushed all in on the raise on the flop and he folded. Knew i had played it bad at the time so i just wanted opinions on how to play it better again next time if the scenario popped up. Thanks
