    Hi All,

I'm trying to test this blue face thingy with the X lite softphone but I'm having technical issues. Blueface technical support have been unable to help me.
    here is the situation

I cannot make outbound calls every time I try the connection times out, doesn't ring or anything I get error 408 on the softphone. Incoming calls are perfect.

I know its not my router caused I tried bypassing that and connecting straight to my internet connection. so its either Blueface , the softphone, my Pc or Irish broadband. I would think its more than likely my PC or Irish broadband but I have no way of identifying which ...

I would really appreciate some help from anyone with this. I really need to get rid of Eircom and I was hoping blue face were the company to do it

    Alan

Download & install wireshark (Ethereal under a new name).
    Capture the packets for calls.

Use Wireshark to decode the SIP messages.
See if there is no response to some outgoing messages.

I use IBB with Voip - no probs.
I had similar issues first time round, had to setup a NatD rule.

    Report back on your findings.

I'm not familair with this type of output.

Can you try the following, capture the call attempt, then click on the "statistics menu" in the menu bar. Then select the "Voip calls" sub menu.
There should be some information there about your attempted call, click on an entry, then select the "graph" option.

You should get a new window with a call flow diagram.
Post that (do a screen grab & partially erase your public IP address & any other sensetive information for security reasons).

That should be a visual record of your call flow, easier to see what is going on.

    Crazy!
I had a weird problem with a Zoom 5567, would not allow VPN tunnelling with the firewall off. Contacted zoom support who said it would never work.

Turned the firewall on (no filtering), it worked fine.
