    Hi,

I have more or less decided to get sky basic package, cancel it after a year
and use a FTV card to pick up channel 4 etc.
I will use an aerial to pick up the RTE's...

I am now wondering about the box. If i get Sky+ do i have to have a Sky+ subscription? Do i need this for EPG facilities? i.e. recording 2 channels at once etc?

If so, can i keep this facility after the contract if up or is it only available
    when you pay the subscription?

    thanks for any help

You need to pay the Sky+ subscription to use any Sky+ features (its €15 a month on top of the basic sub). If you have 2x of the premium channels (movies or sports) you dont pay the extra €15 a month, you get Sky+ sub inc.

I have Sky+ and I garentee you if you go for it you'll be hooked & not be able to move back to regular non PVR tv again...:D

It won't record "other channels" i.e. BBC3, BBC4, UTV etc..

It's time Sky stopped charging rental for something you have bought.

If that is the case i will go for the standard box.
