Where to get an ir receiver that works with mce remote?

I bought an mce remote off someone on adverts a few months ago and when i use it now and move in a direction a few times in vista mce it gets stuck. Im hoping its just the ir receiver thats not working as when i got the remote and ir receiver first, the ir receiver wouldnt work at all. So had to open it up and fix a loose cable. Anyways i want to get a cheap ir receiver online as no shops near me would have them. As cheap as possible as i dont want to have wasted money if its the actual remote thats the problem. So if anyone can tell me where to get one it would be great.

did you try ebay i had a quick look there and you can get the remote and Receiver for 12+p&p

that works out at 20 something euro, way way too much im afraid. I payed around that for the actual mce remote and ir receiver that i have atm. Thnaks anyways, I checked ebay before but couldnt find ir receivers on their own, probably not searching the right term.

Can't say for certain but I think it may not unless you use a custom driver, a little Googeling shows some references that the MCE remote wont work unless using a custom driver & that it may also apply to the IR receiver (for example the remote that came with my tuner does support MCE but I never used it).

Could not find any solid info one may or the other.
