Moving House

I have my line and broadband with BT but will be moving to a new house in October.

The house is "wired for telephone"

Does this mean that I need to contact BT to switch the line over to the new address? Or do I need to contact Eircom?

It is in the same exchange so should be easy enough to do... right???

    Will it cost anything?

    Cheers

You'll need to get eircom to enable the line at the new house, unless it's already in use. Once that's done, you have to wait a few weeks before the DSL line check is done, if that passes you can get broadband from BT or whoever you like. If it fails, there's pretty much nothing you can do.

eircom will charge about €25 for re-connecting the line. They guarantee nothing in terms of broadband though and won't qualify the line before you pay for activating it.
