Does anyone know if you have sky multiroom and subscribe to Setanta Sports will they enable it on both viewing cards or do you have to pay extra to get it on both boxes?

AFAIK Setanta, the stingy boggardts, make you pay twice if you want both cards capable of receiving Setanta. I think though someone has mentioned that they give you a reduced price on the second card but i am not sure if that was a once off offer to a particular customer or, the general position.

WHAT. Double charging...Thats some rip off.

That is shocking. Was going to get sky multiroom along with setanta.

Now might just hold out for UPC to sort chorus out. May be a while
    but we shall see.

I a not sure what the story is with Ntl digital but i know this is a setanta policy a nothing to do with Sky. In fact, sky do the opposite. With Prem Plus you get it on any multi room box you have.

And Chorus give it to you also in every room

Only the analogue channels (which will be reducing) NTL/Chorus (same company), in every room. Otherwise need a digital cable receiver / decoder for each room just like Sky.

Really with Sky you only need one subscription and FTA Satellite in the other rooms.

How many different Setanta channels do you need to watch simulanously? Surely even with a Mulitroom Sport, only having Setanta in one digibox is not a huge problem. You can watch all the Digiboxes selected channel in all the rooms by daisy chain Aerial, (RFin RF out) box 1 and (RFin RF out) box2 to a distribution amp.

All our TVs have each got any local gear on SCART and then the various S_VHS, and Satellite recevier outputs on Ch5 to C10 of TV sets.

I also have a video sender.

Watty, if only it was as easy that, I have Sky+ so obviously would want Setanta subscription on that box so I could record from it. However main reason for getting it would be for US golf so on a Sunday evening I would want to watch this live while my wife watches something else and she would most likely want to catch up with something she had recorded on Sky+ so I would need to use other box.

By the way I phoned Setanta and they said it is €18 per month for first box and €9 per month for 2nd box. 1st box is a minimum 12 month contract while there is no minimum contract for 2nd box.

At €18 per month I was borderline whether I would get it or not but no way I'm paying €27 a month. So by their greed they have lost a potential long term customer.

why not call Setanta and let them know of your disatisfaction. it is only a rip off if you pay

Buy her a Golf club subscription and play golf with her. You might save on TV subscriptions.

    Jeepers, watty! Miaow indeed....

btw, its membership to a golf club, not subscription ;)

OP, yes, as Mossy said, you are right not to pay, Setanta is not worth €27 (let alone €18 imo) but do register your anger with them, mention during the call that they've lost a potentional customer.

Don't worry I did, I made it very clear to them that at €18 per month I was seriously considering signing up but once I discovered it would actually cost me €27 per month I told them to forget it but if they ever decided to revise their charges for a 2nd box to let me know.
