Skype has encountered a fatal error

    Hey all,
    It all seemed so easy. Reinstall windows and get skype up and running tonight so my gf could talk to her sister in America.

    But no cos Skype doesn't run. It's the most up to date version. It installs. It goes to the login/new account screen. But when you try and login in it processes for a few minutes and then a box comes up saying Skype has encountered a fatal error and needs to shut down. I send an error report off and that's it.

    I've tried reinstalling it. It worked fine a few weeks ago. What's going on? :(

    You've already reinstalled. Maybe that download was corrupt. Try downloading another copy. Remove Skype first then reinstall.

    Are you running a firewall? No harm to run a virus check.

    I don't know what happened. Came home last night and my gf was chatting away on it. I asked her what she'd done and she said nothing...

    Er. No idea why it's working now. Anyhow, cheers for the help ethernet. If it kicks up again I'll uninstall and reinstall.
