its never as clear as day what a 70/35 has

I dunno, i call and have him pegged for Ax or two pair. You have checked the turn and he may be just trying to take it down on the flop. Straightforward call for a donkey calling station like me.

Not only is it not a standard fold against a few 70 fish i might even value raise here

I'd be leaning towards a raise more than a fold if those stats are over a reasonable number of hands.

huh? he nearly always has a flush here.

One of the things about running bad is that you start second guessing yourself. Shane,

this guy has been calling every single one of my raises with draws.this is the first time he bet against me, I think.and if it matters I was playing pretty well and feeling good in this session and was up a few yoyos.

he limped called a raise=I've got pretty cards.

    c/c flop=I've got a fd

    c turn hope i bet=i have a flush

betting river hard=pay my flush plz.

I was pretty certain that's what he had but called like a station cause I'd hit a set.

no one thinks this is a fold?

This is just a thread out of frustration on my part, i keep getting hands like this where I'm almost certain he's a flush or whatever and has outdrawn me but I call anyway, cause either i wont drop a set or cause I'm getting good odds, and everytime I turns over exactly what I'm expecting.

If his stats are really like that, I'm sure he's been calling you with more than just draws. I'd call here. I can easily see him having 2 pair.

Calling the river is the only option here. Raising is stupid if u ask me. If he has a flush fair enough, he just got lucky. I certainly would not fold the river bet here.

    Easy call.

Also you need to raise more pf in a lot of your threads. Standard should be 4x + 1bb/limper or at lease 3.5x + 1bb/limper

Sorry Guys been meaning to ask this for a long time but when you say "He a 70/35/1.2" what do you mean ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,894 ✭✭✭✭phantom_lord

so even tho my read is like 95% sure I'm beat here, we're all insta-calling?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,751 ✭✭✭BigCityBanker

well if you are confident that you are 95% beat this is not a profitable call in the long run, you should clearly fold and there was no need for this thread.

Me im not 95% confident im beat in these situations and therefore I instacall getting 3/1 on my money - hence my donkey status.

no, go with your reads, but you are wrong here against this villain if you were working solely on stats

"keep getting hands like this where I'm almost certain he's a flush or whatever and has outdrawn me but I call anyway, cause either i wont drop a set or cause I'm getting good odds, and everytime I turns over exactly what I'm expecting."

you only remember the ones you lose

ok, i just thought he played in the most cards face up way possible :o and I really shoulda been disciplined enough to lay it down. but i guess it wasn't such a bad call as I felt at the time.

I really can't remember many hands at all where I felt so strongly I was beaten and he turned up a poxy two pair or something.

what is your read based on?
thoes stats suggest that you read is wrong and flush is only one of the many hands he could have here.
How do you think he would play the hand with A9,A2,22,A6,96,92s,62s,99 ?

well, c/c the flop is indicative of a station with a draw, as is his river bet. he called pretty quickly too, which is a quite often a draw.

A couple of little things like that, I can't really quantify it tbh, it was just my gut feeling.

He had c/c me down 3/4 times and c/f when he missed, here the draw hit, and he was betting.

I really think he plays all of those hands differently, any hand that he thinks he has me beat with he's probably betting with before the river, he was just a really obvious straightforward player.

when he c/c the flop, i thought his most likely hand was a draw, and I really didn't like that river card cause I felt I had to call, even though I felt strongly about what he had.

I don;t have many hands on him, he stats finished up 58/25/1.2 over 39 hands when he left.
