    Hi All,

Lately I think I am suffering from stress, more than likely work related since the feelings I've been having tend to always manifest themselves at work, to the point where I begin to feel bad as I head in the door to work and only really feel better when I leave work in the evening. I do believe a lot of it is tiredness, I always feel worse when I am tired.

Some days are better than others but it affecting my work and concentration a lot and I'd like to try some simple stress relief techniques...anyone know any sites that discuss the issue? list methods to relieve stress, etc.

I will go to a doctor if the symptoms persist but I'd like to see if I can manage it myself first.

    Thanks

I did a quick google for you and there are thousands of sites, unfortunately most are .coms
    like this:

    http://www.mindtools.com/stress/pp/IntroPage.htm

It has little intros though which may help

so i think you may have to pay to download the info :(, but have a look and see what they say.
Shows you how much of a problem it is though in daily life.

Take a look at www.VHI.ie I think it has a section on stress.

Stress is a reaction to get us to fight or run away when faced with danger. However, beating up you boss is unacceptable and running away means you won't get paid.

However, getting some exercise will use up some of the adrenilin. Also avoid alcohol, caffeine and nicotine and try to eat reasonably healthy. Sugary food will tend to give you highs and lows.

Try yoga or reiki classes to chill out and treat yourself to massages to work out the knots cos chances are you're getting tension headaches or back pain. More aggressive sports like kick boxing etc could help channel the stress and negative feelings.

Try not to burn yourself out at work, get a good organisation system and break things into manageable chunks. Keep a to do lists. When you check something off you'll feel relieved. Do NO work and don't even think about it once you leave work. Maybe go out after work with colleagues and just try to enjoy yourself.
