Well last Thursday I ordered my GBB P226 from ehobby. Today I get a letter from customs. I have to foward the invoice to them or they will not send it out to me. If they do not recieve the invoice in 14 days it goes back to HongKong.

Last time I'm ordering anything from ehobby, it's too messy.

That's sucks alright man :( My eHobby order arrived today ok but I've got another order that just went in a few days ago, I'll see if they do the same thing for me. If not they may only be doing it on orders with guns in them.

But when I do that they are going to charge me extra VAT and a customs and excise charge on top of what I have already paid, I think.

I if have to do this for every thing I order I will just pay the little extra and order from the UK sites.

:( I still can't believe that's happening with ehobby orders.

And it worked fine for so long. Someone must have caught on.

I got charged €30 on my AK (with bits and bobs) about a week ago. Looks like they're getting wise to us!

I would not mind so much if it came to the door and was asked for €30. The thing is that the package was here in country yesterday. Now I have to send them an invoice, they have to replay, charge me, wait for the payment to get to them, then they will ship it from Portlaoise.

I'll be lucky to have it by the end of next week!

Only reason they ask for invoice is if they believe the value of the good stated on the shipping order is incorrect.

Getting hit for VAT by customs seemed to be more rare a while ago but is alot more common now.

I've been hit twice in 3 orders now.

They do send it to your door, I got hit with VAT for my first order and all I had to do was pay the postman, i wasn't there at the time so i just went to the local post office the next day and paid the VAT and got the gun there and then. They'd only request an invoice if they suspect the price has been misquoted.
That said i think An Post and customs are a bunch of wasters. My gun prior to delivery had been sitting in portlaoise for a week, it was only delivered because i made a few phone calls.

I fowarded the invoice to them last night in an email. I still have no replay. I also tried to ring them but they will not answer the phone. I left a few messages and they never got back to me, even though their message minder siad they would.

I'd love to go down there and shoot every one of them with the gun, that might get them off their arses.

Quote from EHobby Listing on EBay

For International Shipment, we provide 100% Money Back Guaranteed upon custom seizure and confiscation provided the product is legal both ship to & sold in your country.

Wouldnt shippments from the UK be subject to VAT as well or is just that the HK stuff is coming from outside the EU. Your man in BFSL is looking better all the time.

I finally got my P226 on Friday after getting held up for 4 days by customs. I had to pay the postie €29.27 it was worth it in the end though, my first GBB gun and its something else. I love the 1kg weight of it. I plan on getting realisticly marked grips and slibe from eHobby for it as it has no marks on it now except for KJWorks on both sides of the grip.

Realistic DA/SA with de-cocking and all.:)

So there is little difference if you order from the UK sites or eHobby now because they will end up near the same price.

Gun €104+ delivery €35+ VAT/Customs €30= €169 total, I should have ordered it from Wolf, it would have been about €30 less in total.

Depends what you're buying. If you want to get an AEG, still stick to ehobby.

Any time I've worked it out, even taking VAT into consideration, it works out MUCH cheaper then Wolf.

Some price comparisons for say, buying a Famas with a high cap and a battery.

    Famas on Wolf $323
    Famas on Ehobby $185

    A difference of $138

High cap magazine on Wolf $59!!
High cap magazine on ehobby $23

    A difference of $36.

large battery on wolf is $90
    Large battery on ehobby $30

    End result for package,

    Wolf armouries $472
    Ehobby $238

    A difference of $234
Even if postage and VAT cost $134, which it wont, you'd be saving $100. Plus, you might not even have to pay vat.

So shop around people. What is the vat any way. 21% or somthing?
