Hi all, have just booked a holiday to florida, and on the way home i fly into gatwick, then fly from heathrow to dublin. has anybody had to do this before, and what transport is available?
ie is there a train between the 2 airports? time is limited (just over an hour) so need to find the fastest route possible.

    http://www.londontoolkit.com/travel/heathrow_gatwick_transfer.htm
    says

"By far the most popular option connecting Heathrow and Gatwick are the frequent bus / coach shuttles providing a near 24x7 service between Heathrow and Gatwick airports. These are run by National Express Airport. There is no direct train transfer between Heathrow and Gatwick.

The National Express service takes around an hour in normal traffic conditions. Airlines recommend you have at least 3 hours between landing at one airport and checking in at the other."

taxi might be a little quicker but still tight to make it inside 1 hour.

    train takes 1h30.

i would change the flight time from heathrow if possible. did you not check this out before booking your flights?

Gatwick Express to Victoria, circle/district line from Victoria to Paddington, Heathrow express from Paddington to Heathrow. Expensive but you should do it in under and hour. Three hours isn't a whole load of time between flights, unless you're being checked through?

There is go Gatwick to Heathrow check through any more. And using the Express - Tube - Express route would take more than an hour.

Three hours is in my opinion not enough when you factor in possible delays ,baggage collection, immigration and customs clearance, and check in deadlines.

It could work though, not saying it wont, but I wouldn't like to be depending on everything going ok.

you'll be very lucky to make it in 3 hours unless your prepared to shell out for a taxi which will cost about £70.

you should be ok with the coach link, as long as there's no major traffic snarl ups on the M25.
