    Hello,
    I would like to get Sky... however I don't know if I am able... I live in a terraced house so I think line of sight might be an issue....

    So is there someone that comes around when you order and "checks" ... are you charged for this even if you can't get sky ??? Can you do something before you order to check this ????? :confused:

    Anyone with info.. appreciated.. thanks

    -Alan

    have you had a look at your neighbors houses... maybe someone close has it installed.

    or you could ring them and ask if anyone on your street has sky, i did that in my old house...

    I think the line of sight test is basically an unimpeded view of the sky where the sun is at 11AM - that may give you an indication of whether you can get the service or not. I can't imagine an installer charging much though if they do the test and are unable to provide the service through no fault of yours.

    A bracket at rear holding dish about 150cm above the gutter will work. It's very unusual not to get it if the installer has some gumption. It can even go on wall or shed at bottom of garden. 25m cable run is not a problem. Booster is possible for 100m or even 250m runs of cable

    Hmm.. could be tricky for me... at around 11 today the sun was :

    sun.......->......:)
    Direction->.........\
    Front ->.........______________________________
    Balcony ->......_______|______________X|______
    House ->...................|.........................|
    ..............Neighbour....|.....My House.......|....Neighbour
    .....................______|________________|________
    Back ->....................|..........................|
    ...............................|.......................Y|

    So you can see in the back there is no line-of-sight to the Sun..
    The only option really is on the balcony (X)... this is the front of the house which is quite restrictive in terms of regulations... however there is a spot thats not visible from from the road.. so unless someone comes into my house and on the balcony they would not really know it was there... too risky ????? :confused:

    Out the back is not long enough to install in location (Y)

    It can see back from just above gutter. Elevation is about 20 degrees.
