5 broken condoms in 3 months? very puzzled

hey going unregged for this becaause i know my big bro uses this forum and knowsw my user name.. so I am on the pill but me and the bf use condoms too because i ahve decreased liver function due to medication and there is a possibility taht its reducing the effectivness of the pill and also coz i am copmpletly paranoid about contraception and sexual health . Anyhow after 6 years togehter and no accidents we have had 5 condoms break in 3 months!! is this a statistical aborration? Dodgy condoms (we always use the same well respected brand)? has anyone any suggestions about why/how this might be happening?

There're a number of things that make them less effective, do you carry them around in wallets or anything?

nope they live in a locker beside our bed.. its nto near a radiator or damp either

This would suggest the wrong size, is it the same size you have always been getting or did he accidently pick up a smaller pack?

'thats one thing i was thinking about..the 5 broken condoms came from 3 different boxes but we had been living in germany and then france and this started happening 2 months after we arrived in ireland. Could condoms be a different size there?'

It's probably due to friction, size would hardly be the cause of it (stretch a condom as far as you can to see why)
perhaps try a water based lubricant to lower the chance of them breaking.

seriously i never use condoms ~(on pill) but wasn't for a while and noticed that every condom was too small even though my bf isn't huge. spoke to friends who had the same problem. op i think you many have given out too much info on yourself to remain anon

This happens throw every one you have out , go to the shop and buy a new pack of reliable ones rather than the odds and ends of your travels ffs. They break it happens.

Personnally i think you have just found some new twist and its straining the things, submit your position to the firm with pictures so they can add it to the Quality Assurance cases.

Make sure he pinches the end (of the condoms, that is ) when he puts them on. Air bubbles trapped inside the condom increases the chance of breakage AFAIK.

That was my first thought; make sure his putting them on right. If in doubt don't be afraid to bust out the little instructions that often come with them.
