NFL Round Three

Donegal play Dublin this coming Sunday 25th February in round three of the Allianz National Football League.

With Donegal getting off to a good start in the League, but misfiring against Tyrone last Saturday, and Dublin trying to overcome an indifferent start to their league campaign, this is sure to be an interesting and intriguing tussle between two good footballing sides.

Father Tierney Park in Ballyshannon plays host to the fixture. The town is looking forward to the influx of Dubs over the coming weekend and as PRO of the Aodh Ruadh club in Ballyshannon, I'd encourage as many as possible to make the trip.

The club website has directions to Ballyshannon and a map of the town with Father Tierney Park clearly noted on this webpage.

There will be plenty of parking around the town and stewards will be on hand should you require any assistance on match day.

For those of you planning to make a weekend of it, you might find the following website useful!

Not only does it list all the friendly hostelries in the town, but it also offers a useful accommodation list in its 'Where To Stay' section.

If you have any questions, drop me a line at info@aodhruadh.org and I'll see if I can sort you out. Looking forward to seeing you all there on Sunday. May the best team win!

Typical Ballyshannon man, first post and he uses it to advertise it! Lol. Should be interesting on Sunday.

The truth probably in the middle somewhere. Encouraging McKenna Cup and league but a wee wake up call on Sat. We weren't as bad as the scoreline suggests. 2 points in the 1st half and probably 60/70% of the best chances. Forwards still the problem. The talent is there. Just getting the right mix! May be this is the first criticism of McIvor but was he not a bit slow in making changes to the forwards on Sat? Anything would have been an improvement. The quality of the ball into Devenney and McMenamin was dreadful. Way to low and slow.

Anyway, another big test on Sun. 1/2 points either way but we need to be winning these if we want to be serious contenders to the Big 3.

It was a very strange game last Saturday. Tyrone just seemed to overpower Donegal in the second half. Our support play left a lot to be desired. Tyrone were playing as a team whilst Donegal men seemed to be playing as individuals.

The forwards are certainly there, the problem seems to be the speed of the ball going in. Donegal half backs never seemed to have back up and getting the ball up the pitch seemed to take for ever.

This is strange, because generally Donegal have been progressively getting better this year. Saturday night was a bit of a set back, but a win against the Dubs would do a hell of a lot to put Donegal back on the right track. The Dubs have their own problems and Donegal will be fancying their chances.

There are niggling issues in the Donegal team and it would be good to see them ironed out sooner, rather than later.
