Seen plenty of debate about the match and whether God save the Queen should be played or not, but TBH I'm much more worried about what could happen outside the stadium.

I don't think the French game gave us a whiff of it, but basically the North Inner City is a Shinners/'RA head nest, and there will be alot of hot-headed young men in the pubs & on the streets come 8-9pm on a Sat night (who won't have been at the game).

I hope there's a guard on every street corner & plenty of wagons around, but I fear there won't be. If I was in charge of security I wouldn't have allowed a kick off this late in the first place. Hopefully I'm wrong...

I think that there is so much hype about the whole thing and also the ahuge amount of negative publicity that the Love Ulster thing generated, that there will be so many guards around the place. And proper order too.

Also, there won't be any handy materials like bricks, paving blocks etc left lying around for any muppets to start throwing around.

I'd be more concerned about bomb hoaxes timed for just before the match. I dont' think that RSF would be so stupid to try something like that. But what do I know.

Hopefully nothing happens and we just celebrate a famous Irish victory!

The guards were plain-and-simple not prepared for what happened at the Love Ulster march. With some extra gardaí on standby to stop anyone getting worked up enough to start rioting, there'll be no trouble. Off the pitch anyway.

I think the Gardai will be well prepped for this.
What I would worry about however is the ordinary England supporter coming over for the weekend. I hope they don't get any crap from some grogged up gobdaw in a pub on the friday night for example.
The thing about rugby union is that police cordons are never needed and fans' safety is never (normally) a worry. Lets hope some idiots don't change all that this weekend.

Glad to hear that the guards have put down a marker to RSF or whoever. Heard a bit on Newstalk about one of their "representatives" complaining about special branch raids on them, police state etc etc. Well there should be plenty of them on show on Saturday.

Tempting fate I know but I don't think that there'll be much trouble be it on a group level. Individually there maybe a risk from JWADs* "grogged up gobdaws," but it's not as though they needed an excuse to be gobsh*tes anyway.

Here's hoping all we're talking about on Sunday monday is a famous Irish victory.

*Well not "his" but you know what I mean.

I think if history has thought us anything at these types of events (Lansdowne '95 & the Love Ulster March) is that when the Gardaí are not prepared it becomes a mess. I honestly believe that nothing will kick off (no pun intended) on Saturday and that the Gardaí will be more than prepared this time round. There's an awful lot at stake for it not to be a peacful event.
