Whats the best value 32 inch LCD around at the moment do you reckon?
    Are Philips good?

I think Ill go with a brand name when I get one anyway and 720p so that its future proof.
Id like to get one for 800 euros or 900 at the max I think.
    Any recommendations?

I have one of the Samsung's at home which is very good.

Actually that's actually a 26" now that I think about it, but I can't envisage there being too much difference in quality?! Plus they are very slick design.

Well, from what I've read Phillips have reliability problems. Also, a friend of mine bought a cheaper Phillips 32inch LCD and it's got to be one of the worst screens I've ever seen. It's very washed out and no color depth. The blacks look more brown then black. The only thing going for it,is that you hang it on a wall. The more expensive Phillips look good, but from what I've read about their reliability I wouldn't buy one. This is just my opinion though.
