O'Brien's are doing that posh (and very nice) Italian sparking mineral water, San Pellegrino for just one euro per bottle.

I'm getting through a case a week at the moment.

Maybe I'm missing something here but how is a bottle of water with gas in it considered "posh"???

It's found in the best restaurants and it's really nice.

    Try it!

It's deemed posh when stored within 15ft of a hand cut sandwich.

Don't be fooled by these places that only do those old mouldy knife cut sandwiches; we all know slicing sandwiches by hand is much more upmarket and hygenic...

They've been selling it for a €1 for quite a while now - I agree it tastes very good for a bottled water - similar to perrier.

If you're a fan of the taste or perrier, then premium unleaded is about 1/2 the price and has a similar benzene content*...

*Drinking petrol is dangerous and should not be attempted without the proper training

Yeah, at €2 a litre I wonder why Bush bothers invading the Middle East, he should be invading O'Briens as their water is much more valuable than oil!!

I think they had that promotion going before Xmas?

It's usually about €1.50 a bottle in Tescos. I picked up a few cases in O'Briens as I drink the stuff anyway.

It is lovely, but goes flat pretty quick if you leave half a 1litre bottle unused for a while.

Always makes me laugh when I see people whinging about the price of bottled water, and then go out and spend €5 on a shot of Jagermeister when you can get a whole 750ml bottle of the stuff for €25. That's some profit margin!

I hate sparkling! SuperValu 5ltr (Tap)Water ftw, from their secret spring under Robinhood - a pound (1.30)

San Pellegrino is nice stuff, standard over in Italy but usually a ridiculous price here. Badoit is a similarly good french sparkling water, but only ever seen it rarely & for ridiculous prices here.

Is that O'Briens sandwich bars or O'Briens Off Licences who are selling it for €1?

what size bottles are for €1? I get a six pack from Tesco for around €4...lovely stuff. I remember seeing it in the "Devil Wears Prada" all around their office.
