    Hi,

I would like to start learning the basic techniques of photography, can anyone recommend a course worth going on, I'm pretty much a beginner, would I be better of reading a book and experimenting on my own?

I have new Digital SLR (EOS 400D) that I would really like to use to its fullest. I plan on taking a few hiking trips this summer / autumn and it would be great to get the most out of it.

    Thanks in advance!

I'm doing the beginners course at the Dublin Camera Club at the moment and am enjoying it. We are 4 classes in to a 10 class course so I am not sure when the next classes start.

Cheers gandalf, I had a look. The Digital Photography looks good, I think that might be more up my alley, as I'm not too interested in developing and dark room stuff.

I would recommend Dave @ Digital Beginner but then I have been on his course so I can speak from first hand.
