    Hi all
I got a new laptop recently. I'm a bit of a technophobe so I don't know how to transfer my music from my ipod onto the new laptop. Any ideas?
    Thanks

Why not just transfer your itunes folder on your old machines to the new one.. then import all music into new machines Itunes and when you hook up the Ipod it will sync with it.

    Use EphPod..

Install it, select everything in your library when it loads, then right click and choose 'Copy Songs To Directory' in the menu that pops up.

Choose where you want them to go and they'll be transferred into folders by artist.

    Best of luck!

Thanks for the replies. My problem is that I've already given away the old laptop as I thought you could just plug the ipod into the new machine & the music would transfer!

I downloaded EphPod but not sure what to do next (as I said, I'm a COMPLETE technophobe!).

Did you install EphPod? Install it, connect your iPod, give it a minute for your PC to recognise it, launch EphPod and it should load up your library.

So I tried EphPod but I got this message:

The drive you have chosen does not appear to have the
proper iPod directory structure. All iPods have a main
directory called ipod_control, and several subdirectories,
including 20 hidden directories of music files.

You will not be able to continue with EphPod unless you
    build this directory structure.

But when I try to built this directory structure it says:
    cannot create :\iPod_Control

Any ideas what to do next?

Forgot to say that when I load EphPod I get this message:
Welcome to the ephPod 2 Wizard.

This will help you get your iPod working with Windows in
    no time at all.

First, grab a copy of DataViz's MacOpener. You can
get a free trial from http://www.dataviz.com/EphPod/
This program that allows you to read Macintosh Drives
    through Windows.

When you have installed MacOpener, then plug in your iPod,
wait for it to be recognized by Windows, and then click Next...

But when I try to get that free trial, it says it's not available
