I just got quotes ranging from 294 to 525 euro!

I'm slightly sceptical of a site which does'nt ask about medical history.

    Mike.

Medical history on car insurance? Cant say i have ever been asked about that.
Anyway there is no such thing as a bargain insurance website. Every inurer gives a different price to different people.
When i recently looked up some quotes i found the AA to be the cheapest only to have Britton insurance give me an even better quote when they reviewed my rather than just letting the computer give me a quote.

Shop around and do not bother with any particular site because it seems like a bargain.

Maybe cos you don't have any conditions/illness so it was'nt ever an issue (anyway I've found a paragraph which addreses that issue in the FAQ).

No savings for me. Unfortunately, like most places, the quote requires my to offer them some of my favourite body parts (1x arm and 1x leg). :D

Still, the quote I got wasn't really any dearer than the best quote I got elsewhere.

I do like the fact that the insureme.ie site only asks you to fill out 2 pages of information before they give you a quote. None of that 7-page loada pollocks that one insurance site demands.

Just got quote that was €900 more than I paid last month

just out of interest, i put my details into the site
not renewing my insurance this year, but got a quote 35 euro cheaper than what i was quoted by Hibernian, with Ignition discount.
the cheaper quote was from Eagle Star Lady Star

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,084 ✭✭✭✭Stark

Quoted me 600 euro more than what I'm currently paying.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,518 ✭✭✭✭dudara

It gave me a quote roughly comparable with what I paid last year. Given that last year was the first time I was insured on my own, I'll be expecting a discount this year, so to be quoted the same isn't great.

The cheapest quote for me is about 250 less than I'm paying, the most expensive (525) is from the company as I'm currently with - Allianz!

I await thier reply to my e-mail query about medical conditions with interest.

    Mike.

They quoted me nearly 300 euro more than what I'm paying. I did find this site below that almost equalled my own insurance company.

    section 1 of 8
Why on earth?!... I don't have the time (with my 24/7 lifestyle) to go through 8 sections to get a quote. :D

It's especially annoying that they leave it to the end to say they can't insure you (well, me) due to the risk! I wish they'd ask the disqualifying questions in the first section; then, if you're not insurable, let you know that there's no need to fill out the remaining 7 sections.

Based on what I paid last year, I could have saved €70.

Not much point in me trying it out, Hibernian said they wont insure me for another 10 years and another company quoted me €12,000 on a 1.6 Passat, how these people can actually say quotes like that without laughing is something I will never know. No, insurance in Ireland is not for me, its just another part of rip off Ireland.

OMG. What have you done to get quotes like that USER X?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,372 ✭✭✭Illkillya

Quinn Direct is far cheaper for me than any of the quotes I'm getting from here.

Cheapest quote there is 500 quid more expensive than any renewal I've been quoted for this year on the phone, and 400 quid more than I paid last year.

I can not believe that my 1000th post was about car insurance.

  Are you insuring a high end market sports car or do you have convictions??

ummm... i think i might have entered something wrong, because to insure two of us, with my insurer at the moment its like costing 2,500 or some such, and that website just offered me 5 hundred and somthing.
just out of interest, if you cancel your insurance with your current insurer, do you get a refund?
