    Hi Andy22

    Congrats on the new car.

Great choice, but i would say that, being owner of a nice 2002 tii and part of a group of old beemer enthusiasts (mostly 02s) who meet up on the second tuesday of every month at either the Spawell in Templelogue or the Radisson underground car park in Stillorgan (currently the latter cos its winter).

Next meet is on 13th March but we're also planning a St Patrick's Day run for old beemers, mostly 02s, but also e21s, CSs, E3s etc.

We keep in touch with yahoogroup site - bmw2002ireland@yahoogroups.com - send a mail asking the moderator, Rob, to make you a member.

We're always happy to meet new 02 owners and as you are a new 02 owner you will find us a veritable feast of information and advice. So if you're interested in coming along either to the St Paddys day PM me and forward your details on or just turn up on 13th March at the radisson.

    happy 02ing

That car looks just amazing - great find. I too was considering buying one of those but in the end went for a Mk II Golf Gti - another classic which I love. ;)

I see it's on Ebay already. Why are you selling it so soon?

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 25,558 Mod ✭✭✭✭Dades

There's nothing wrong with gushing about your new car and joining clubs, but you could at least keep it two weeks before you flog it!

Such a quick change of heart doesn't lead to buyer confidence. Good luck with the sale though.

probably just an opportunistic quick profit. no harm in advertising it!

Well, if you can sell it (the '02) on at that kind of profit, why not?

Not about profit its about having the chance in owning different types of classic cars which i love doing. i love going around looking at classic cars and having the chance in having a choice of many

    Adam,

None of my business whatsoever, *but* if one goes to the bother of buying a car privately at an *asking* price of, say €7,450-and ten days later slings it on the 'bay at a buy it now of €9,500, then no matter how much they beat their chests about the (gorgeous looking) vehicle in the meantime, I'm going to call quick profit on it.

Not that it makes any difference whatsoever. If you can make a few bob, why not, just don't pass it off as itchy feet.

If variety is your thing, there are companies in the UK who specialise in classic hire. Nice for a weekend break, and you may find something to float your boat.

    Very true my good friend

I want a mustang was after one for a while then the bmw came up and i couldn't turn such a lovely car down. but now i have seen a mustang i would like to buy and have to put the bmw a side and move on. good thinking what you said i might well do that

    Cheers

Started reading this thread just now and was going to say something like: "Oh, it's an automatic... I'm looking for one of those. If you're ever selling it, please let me know", as I'm trying to put a classic into my budget for late '07 / early '08.

Then I saw you're selling it already! Wish I was in a position to splash out on a lovely motor like that right now. Unusual to get a RHD nicely restored in automatic

    Ah well

I see you shifted the Beemer quick with the Buy it Now.

Fair play to you andyj22 - turned a quick profit there. :)

Await your next exploits with interest.

Anyone knows how to fix a heater Dialer for a 02 3 series Bmw sometimes it stops working and other times the fan is at high speed...anyone has an idea what could be the problem....i was thinking it could be the resistors but i don't know

Its a long story involving multiple identities and tall stories IIRC

Not that there's much new there - I don't know what finally tipped the balance

Hi there, I'm thinking of buying one on carzone.. Just wondering what you think now you've had it a while. I know nothing about cars but love these. Is it hard to maintain, expensive to run.. do you still love it? What about the petrol costs someone mentioned?
    Hope its going well!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 646 ✭✭✭Johnboy Mac

Looks great. As for the auto it will be great around town but it's an easy'ish swap to manual 5 speed overdrive box from an E21 if the time comes.
    Enjoy and well wear.

Edit: Just realised the OP is from '07, silly me!
