Check out the leaving cert forum.
Someone posted a description of this course in Nuig.
it's stickied under "My college Course" and is about the 3rd or 4th entry.
    Good Luck! :)

I did 1st year of this course a few years ago and had to leave, it was honestly torture, I can't think of a more accurate description. Some aspects of it were relatively ok, and I guess if you actually like the subjects, like with most things, you'd find it no worse then many other courses...but it was the worst thing I've ever studied (and I thought the course sounded ok from the description...).

    I got 305.

It was 310 last year and had gone from 300 to 320 in recent years.

I'll have to do a plc if I don't get it - do you think the points will go down for me?

My friend does it and loves it, he's in a lot of my lectures.

It seems to be a mixed bag between politics, sociology, economics and legal science, there's a few people around who think it's a subject for those who couldn't get into arts but it looks pretty interesting and you can do a broader subject range than arts.

Met someone today who is doing that course come September. I asked them what they would be able to do after it, and they said "I'll pretty much be able to be a social worker"..er, heads up anyone who thinks that, you won't. Trust me, I know:)
