    its a hand drill, the correct term for it is a " Bit and Brace", still manufactured today and worth little, but handy to have in the tool box

    I hate to be pedantic...but that's not a 'bit and brace' but just a hand drill.

    Yeah. It's a hand drill. I remember my grandfather had one, and a bit and brace as well.
