Irish Men Growing A Beard - Photo Project

Hi there, don't let the title put you off, this not one of those fast-buck ideas:

Basically it works like this, I am a photographer (amateur) who likes collecting photographs of guys who have beards (I have one myself).

    Stay with me on this...

I want to take photos of ordinary Irish guys who have grown a beard from scratch and place the results on the Flickr photo-sharing web site.

There are plenty of US sites like this, but none featuring Irish men exclusively.

Here's the deal, if we both agree, I take a photo of you on Day One and for the next four months you agree not to shave. I take some photos of you after month one, month two, month three and then on the final day of the fourth month.

After that, you can do what you want.

What's in it for you? Well, I'm willing to pay you for the inconvenience. It's not a great amount as this is not a commercial project.

If you are Irish, living in Ireland and can travel to Dublin and you are old enough to grow a beard - for four months - and have it documented (please no time-wasters) just contact me here. If you have a recent photo, all the better.

Remember, it's just 120 days and you can be anonymous regarding your name. This is a project.

Four months would be a lot of beard. Any trimming allowed?

If you have to, around the moustache area, but the idea is to let the beard grow for the full 4 months.

Too bad you didn't catch me last year.

I let my beard grow wild for most of 2006... I'm afraid I got a bit too bored of the whole beard thing to try it again.

Sounds like an interesting project though... I'll be sure to ask around.

Not sure that I'd feel safe, could I bring 6 of the lads and a smoke bomb [to be utilised as a diversion/getaway-aid]

2 Months earlier and I would have been up for it, but starting back at work in 2 months and can't have any facial hair.
