Small skis for use with walking boots?

In view of the snow that's still hanging around on the hills here at the moment, I was wondering whether anyone knew of the existence of small skis (similar to the skiboards that re becoming so popular) that could somehow be fitted to normal walking boots? It'd be cool to have something small and light you could just take with you on the off chance that you might be able to use them for a bit of impromptu skiing, don't you think? I'm not talking about conventional touring skis or anything like that .. they'd be too heavy to take along just for fun. Also, I'm sure that I saw something similar once in a big outdoor shop in Kendal (Gregor Fischer?), but I may have been hallucinating :)

EDIT: actually thinking about it, it's really the bindings that are what I'm after, the skis themselves are readily available.

Im pretty sure you can get Ski blades that fit the bill, you'll probably need full shank boots though. Popular for descents on mountains like Elbrus instead of walking for hours.

    Yup quick google ... http://www.snowshack.com/k2faskiboski.html

Thanks .. all the ones (including those) I've seen, seem to require hard-shell mountaineering boots (which I don't have or need) and not normal walking boots.

From the bindings in the picture they look like they'll clip to a B3 boot like a crampon.

That's what I thought too .. anyway, the snow has gone away so no immediate need, but if I ever see any in the shops when I've got my boots on I'll have to investigate further.
