ATTN all Tournie Organisers - New Sticky Information

Ok,

Following on from a recent thread by goodlucktome there is going to be a new stickie for regular tournies around the place. What we hope this will acieve is:

1. It is somewhere people can look to see what is on in their area.
2. It will stop the 'whats on tonight' type threads.
3. It will contain all relevant information.
4. It will give a clear choice as to what is on.

I am in two minds as to whether this is going to be a locked thread to keep focus and people just PM me if they want something added to the sticky, or leave it open and people post changes which I reflect in the main post.

This is to be a sticky for all regular tournies around the country, so each day may have 10 tournies listed if we get that much info, and is open to pub tournies too obviously as long as they are regular we have all the info.

What I don't want is people posting the likes of "I saw a poster for this event, put it in" or "I played this once, put it in". IF tournie organisers want their events listed in this then please post in this thread the following information:

1. Day
2. Start time
3. Starting stack and if any early bird chips.
4. Any rebuys/topups and the chip amounts.
5. Cost including what the reg fee ie.
6. Clock length.

This will be seperated by day rather than venue as it will be easier to see what is on then. All non regular tournies can still continue to post as normal providing they post as per the charter.

This is only used for a trial period and we'll see how it goes, but if it is too much hassle or for any other reasons it might be unstickied.

Great idea. Now I can check what's on when I'm up in Dublin. But it would also be cool if I knew what was on elsewhere in the country. Can those beyond the pail post up tourneys? Or will that be a case of using the current system.

I'm thinking - Cue club - Adelaide - 4aces - Macau and PE I suppose.

Great idea for a stickie.
Another bit of info that would be really helpful is how many runners on average the various tournies get or are expecting.

I realise that doing this would not be easy and would involve regular updating from members but would be very helpful to people like myself who only venture out on the odd occasion.

eg Last Thursday I was delighted that the SE had over 90 runners and an excellent tournie whereas last night I was disappointed when I turned up in the Fitz to find only 21 runners.

It would be very helpful to have an idea of numbers before leaving home.

First gets credit for EOM. Second and third get credit to Monday tournament. Not that I got as far as to win anything

The posters there also say that whenever a tournament's first prize is over €1000 the first prize will include credits for Monday nights tournament, although I'm not sure what other tournaments will qualify for this, probably the tuesday double chance some weeks.

i am not exactly overwhelmed with information here, but nevertheless i will create the sticky this evening, but it is going to be a locked thread to keep out the noise that will detract from the message. Again, any tourney organisers that want to feature please post here or pm me. the new thread will NOT be an advertising vehicle, it will be an information source.
