My Vox Wah has started to crackle when engaged. Its not really bad but quite annoying. Anybody know what this is and how to fix? More of the wonderful contact cleaner maybe?

It's your pot - time to grease it up.

Let's hope it's that simple. Is replacing the pot and easy proposition?

Only when we talk about instruments will I accept greasy pot :p

You might also try using rubbing alcohol...

Here are some greasing tips, but on second thought it might be a good idea to clean the contacts too.

I don't think you'll need to replace the pot yet - isn't that a new wah you got?

Nah Ancient, its old. Got it off Ebay for $70 including postage :D Now I know why

I'll try the grease and if that doesn't work I can get a new pot for €30 which is still a fair price for a V847, although not as fair as I first thought!

squirt a bit of wd-40 into the pot and then move it back and forward for a bit.. then squirt a bit more in. Should sort it.
