i just got my new manual extension tubes for my nikon d50 in the post. but to my SHOCK the box had no instructions. i fitted them, turned my camera on to manual ( cos theyre not AF tubes) and it wont take pictures. i dont know what to do. the f number in the top right of my status screen (top of camera not back) is showing nothing. with all 3 tubes on the camera i can see only black through the lens. with one on i can barely make out a picture. the lens im using is a 28-100 af nikkor.

Try the smallest of the tubes first ,put the tube on the lens first .
Then attach the lens and tube to the camera ,turn the camera on.

i have done this. there is a small round flashing dot showing up at the bottom left side of my view when i look through the eyepiece. i think the camera thinks the lens isnt attached. ive taken them off again and made sure they both click into place but still no joy.

i also took the lens and tube off the camera and tried to take a picture. the display is giving exactly the same readout as when both are attached..

The tubes must not have any contacts on them for the lens ,sorry I can't help you anymore :o
