Mods, could we get this moved to the accountancy forum, seems like it would be better suited over there.

There's alot of people that travel through the acc forum asking questions about getting a job and what it involves, that's why.

Is 15k pretty much the going rate for this kind of job? I would find it hard to live on that.

For a smaller firm it is what you would expect.

I'd say it's aimed at a school leaver.
Graduate positions in the big 4 are only about 23k.

Generally threads are only moved if they are not suited to here, the OP requests it or the moderator of another forum asks. I don't know if the mods of the Accounting forum want these kinds of threads, and honestly this is the Work/Jobs forum so it's not really out of place or anything.

If kluivert or carb are ok with it and the OP wants it we can work something out, otherwise it makes sense to leave things as they stand.

A couple of questions from someone who has looked into accountancy

No overtime ever? Unusual for an accountancy firm

Assistance with college fees I assume means that they will not be covered completely. How much of the 15k will the candidate need to spend on college fees?

How much? And do you need to work it up?

I'd have no particular problem with this one as a lot of people starting in accountancy struggle to get their first trainee role, and we have had a few posters looking for information about starting off and finding a job. I wouldn't want any other level of accountancy jobs advertised as its not the most suitable place. If its not possible to have this thread apear on the two forums, I'd leave it here.

No there is no overtime expected of anyone, unless its panic stations to get something done, which in my two years here, has occured once!
Assistance with the fee's to start with usually half of the cost. If the applicant turned out to be very good, then im sure you could bargain with the boss during a review.
Paid study leave is paid as if you were working as normal, this does not have to be worked up!
