dvd burning

I've tried burning dvd's (that are not encrypted or copyrighted) but i cant burn them.. tried shrinking them first but wont let me burn them with Nero, tried to burn a few without shrinking them but still wont let me .. any ideas ??

You're not giving us much to go on here.

In exactly what way is it not letting you? (ie. what happens, any errors/warnings/etc... do the disks fail to burn successfully or does the burning not even start due to a software problem)
Can you burn any kind of disc at all? (data dvd, audio cd)
Did your setup ever work for burning dvd video?

it'll work for audio cd's no problem, it says the disc will burn but not may fail to play, i tried burning it and it wont play at all.. there vub files if that helps?
