    Hey folks,

My cousin ordered this off eHobby last Wednesday and it arrived this morning. 8 days and then I had to pay €30 customs! B*stards! I must be the first person to have to pay customs on an AEG. My luck!

    Here's what we ordered.......
    TM AK47s $229.00
    AIRSOFT FACE MASK (x2) $20
    Hi Cap Magazine $24.99
    Battery Charger 4.8-9.6V $9.99
INTELLECT AK Type 8.4V 1400mAh NIMH HIGH DRAIN Battery $15.99
US ARMY Tactical CORDURA KNEE & ELBOW Pads $12.99

    Subtotal: US $312.94

Postage and packaging via Standard Int'l Flat Rate Postage:
    US $115.00
Postal insurance (Optional US $5.00): --

    Total: US $427.94 (€327) + €30 customs!!!

Anyways just wanted to give a quick review... It's a gorgeous looking gun! Has the folding stock rather than the fixed one, because my cousin was afraid the fixed one would be too flimsy and it would break. The folding one is pretty good and it'll be handy on Saturday to have a more compact gun, but in retrospect I would have probably advised him to get the fixed stock version, because the battery on this one is a loada c*ck!
My FAMAS requires a bit of twisting and messing with the wires for its battery to fit in, but the AK47s is kinda taking the p*ss! Ya have to be quite forceful with the battery and it can't be good for the wires :( Then when you get the battery in place you have to put the cover back on it and that takes more effort.

I finally got it on anyway, so moving on... The magazine is quite cool, and easy to take out and put in. It has a cocking action on the right-hand side, which is just for decoration of course, but when you slide it back it gives you access to the hop-up system. I find this hopup quite easy to use, alot more-so than the FAMAS. The AK just has a slide that you push forward or back, but the FAMAS you need to turn a little disk, which aint easy!

I fired a clip or 2 and was quite impressed. The ROF is alot higher than I had expected, and presumably the FPS is the same as the rest of the TM AEGs. Whenever my cousin comes to the house we'll both be taking a shot in the back (as is the ritual with new guns ;)), so I'll let ye know how much it hurts! :D The sight is a loada sh*te, but then the AK isn't really reknowned for its accuracy, is it?!
The selector for safety/auto/semi is really clumsy. Compare it to the FAMAS which has a little switch that you flick left or right (although admittedly its location at the back on the bottom isn't exactly ideal) and you can appreciate how silly it is -- it's on the right-hand side of the receiver, and it's about 3 inches in length; you push it down or up to choose. Not very practical, and especially when you fold the stock in, the selector is actually covered! So you have to move the stock around a bit and stick fingers in behind it, etc., lol. Again not convenient.

Overall the gun seems pretty cool though. Not sure how it is for upgrades, but I presume a low-powered scope would be desirable because the sight is terrible. I'll be bringing it on Saturday most likely, because my cousin ordered a high cap mag with it, and also because the collapsing stock will be handier for CQB than the FAMAS. Fellas let me know if it hurts! :D

edit: Pictures to follow when I find the cable for the camera.......

Excellent, It'll be quite interesting to compare this to the CYMA aks nonex has.

I have to say, I do love how airosft replicas adhere to the original gun so much that they don't even attempt to change anything at all. Ie, clumsy fire selectors. The Famas and the AK pretty good examples.

    Oh another thing.
    You were taxed from Ehobby?!?!!?
This is a dark day indeed.

Yeah gave him €30 cash at the door. After he left I got the suspicion that he was conning me :p, but sure enough there's a sticker on the box that outlines the costs.

36? you mush have more than one item or package. FOr me the cost was 29,90 and it shows you how it is boken down into VAT, sorting and excise duty.

When I ordered my gold WA 1911A1 from Redwolf, the €270 value was stamped on the box, I got it delievered to the North to a mates house and I ended up paying €70 in total in customs, vat and the some other stupid charge.

    A VERY expensive gun... :(
